After returning from WPPI in Vegas it became abundantly clear that I needed a new website. WPPI is a photographer's convention and they have classes on just about everything concerning photography. They said the customer wants a visually pleasing, easy to navigate website that showcases the photographer's work without having to go through a lot of different pages.

I spent seven days in Vegas attending all types of classes on children, newborn and family photography. The speakers were amazing. What I found so amazing is how genuine and down to earth they all were. They all had self doubt at sometime, they all still get nervous. But what they all made abundantly clear was that our job is important. We are the history keeper of people's lives. Many of them told stories how their photographs were the last photographs taken of people and how those photographs were the survivor's most prized possessions. I cried through more than one class.

I also got to go into the desert to a stylized shoot with Jenn Burnett Photography and what an amazing day it was. It is so fun to shoot models. There were 25 photographers and we each took time directing the models. It was kind of like being a paparazzi.

The most exciting class I attended was with world renowned baby photographer Ana Brandt. She had quite the life story. She had newborn models and pregnant mamas for us to photograph. I had a few light bulb moments with Ana's wrapping techniques to soothe the baby. I am so excited to put some of my new knowledge to work.

All in all Vegas was an amazing experience. After a long red-eye home, I was so thrilled to be in my own bed.
